We are very lucky to have some great places to eat that we can recommend to you.

 

Our favourite place to eat locally is the Red Lion at Cranford (6.4 miles away), which consistently delivers excellent food, using locally sourced produce and has won multiple awards for their great food and drink. The Argentinian Smoked Chimichurri Beef Steak Hanging Kebab is delicious!

 

We can also recommend; the Tap & Kitchen (with their fabulous craft beers) in Oundle (7.8 miles) the Falcon Inn at Fotherinhay (10.8 miles), the Pheasant at Keyston (11.6 miles) and the Palmichael, amazing Italian restaurant at Burton Latimer (12 miles). If you prefer to relax & stay in, you are welcome to order takeaway and dine in the dining area, your bedroom or on our lovely terrace in the garden. Village Shop

Cooperative Store – open 7am-10pm, just 5 minutes walk away if you need to pick up any groceries. We are happy to heat up food you have bought, in our microwave or oven.

 

Village Cafe

Bake & Brew cafe in the village – dine in or take-out coffees/sandwiches/cakes available, a stone’s throw from the Swallows Rest.

Homemade Cakes & Jams

Jessica’s Bakes – we have a young entrepreneur in the family! Our daughter Jessica bakes delicious cakes and cookies if you would like to place an order during your stay, to take home with you.

 

Nana’s jam & marmalade/Local Brigstock honey – for sale, to take home with you.

 

A Drink or Two

Birds Field Wine – from the Brigstock vineyard behind the Swallows Rest! A delightful dry white, available for sale during your stay.

 

Honesty bar – for when you just need that small treat! Soft drinks, mineral water, crisps, popcorn and chocolate bars available for you in our communal honesty bar fridge.

 

Bottles of beer, wine, Prosecco and Champagne are available to order during your stay (or if you prefer, we can arrange these in your room on arrival).
