Wicksteed Park (9.8 miles)

Founded by Charles Wicksteed, the inventor of Children's play, Wicksteed Park combines the excitement of rollercoasters, rides and attractions with the tranquility of the historic grade II country park. With rides ranging from the Pirate Ship to Rocky Falls log flume, there is plenty to keep you and your family entertained! If you are looking for a more relaxing experience, there is the nature reserve and 147 acres of beautiful parkland.

West Lodge Rural Farm (11.2 miles)​
At West Lodge Rural Farm, children of all ages can meet and learn about a range of farm animals, handle the fluffy young chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs in Cuddle Corner and laugh at the antics of our pygmy goats on Goat Mountain. You can feed the ducks, groom a pony, watch and get involved in the ever popular piglet race, plus many more seasonal animal activities, such as lamb bottle feeding in the spring.

 

Rutland Water (19.5 miles)
A man-made reservoir and now leisure attraction in the centre of the county with walks, cycle hire, play parks, a butterfly farm, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, boat trips, sunken church, an adventure centre, and nature reserve.

Hamerton Zoo (19.7 miles)​
Opened as a conservation sanctuary in 1990. Hamerton's 15 acres of parkland provide a safe home for an array of creatures from around the world.

 

Grafham Water (21.3 miles)
Grafham Water offers a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. Set in 1500 acres of beautiful countryside with 10 miles of cycle track around the waterline, it is an ideal place for a leisurely stroll, picnic or family day out. For the more energetic, why not take advantage of one of the many water sports activities, fishing or cycling.

 

Nene Valley Railway (21.9 miles)
Nene Valley Railway is a heritage railway and home to Thomas the Tank Engine. The preserved railway uses part of the original London and North Western line from Northamptonshire into the Cathederal city of Peterborough, encompassing the stations of Yarwell, Wansford, Ferry Meadows (Nene Park) and Orton Mere.
