Fermyn Woods Country Park (1.2 miles)
Situated in the heart of the Rockingham Forest and home to the beautiful Purple Emperor butterfly , the park offers access to fantastic woodlands, meadows, thickets, marshes and pond. With three circular trails, a large children’s play area, Skylark Café, BBQ area and coarse fishing, there is so much to explore. The park is within walking distance of the B&B.

Barnwell Country Park (7.8 miles)
Located in the heart of the Nene Valley, 15 hectares of lakes, riverbank and meadows to explore, close to the historic market town of Oundle. With three way marked waterside trails, extensive children’s play area, numerous picnic spots and a wealth of wildlife and facilities, Barnwell Country Park is a great place for a family day out.

East Carlton Country Park (8.8 miles)
East Carlton is situated on the edge of the beautiful Welland Valley.  The Heritage Centre in the converted coach house and stables houses a display featuring the history of Corby and the development of the iron and steel industry in the town, as well as craft workshops. There are country walks throughout the park, through fine mature woodland and grasslands and there is also a play area and café.

Fineshade Woods (12.2 miles)
Fineshade Wood is an ancient mixed broadleaf and conifer woodland with an abundance of walking and cycling trails, car park, play areas, Caravan Club site and cafe.

 

Stanwick Lakes (13.3 miles)
Stanwick Lakes is a unique 750acre countryside attraction and nature reserve in the heart of Northamptonshire's beautiful Nene Valley, and is widely considered to be one of the region's most imaginative outdoor activity destinations. It offers the best of both worlds: extensive play areas to keep adventurous families entertained for hours, and for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists, acres of wide open spaces and paths, where blue skies are reflected in tranquil waters.

 

Irchester Country Park (18.8 miles)
This former ironstone quarry has a wonderful children's play area as well as a network of long and short trails through 83 hectares of mixed woodland. The park is home to the Quarryman's Rest Cafe, Jungle Parc high ropes adventure course and the Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway museum.

 

Barnsdale Gardens (22.9 miles)
There are 37 different gardens to explore.  Each garden the size of a typical back garden and each one created by Britain's best loved television gardener, Geoff Hamilton.  There is also a specialist
nursery and teashop.
